Brief summary

The JMP and the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS: http://glaas.who.int/) are responsible for monitoring of drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) including for SDG targets 6.1 and 6.2 (JMP) and 6.a and 6.b (GLAAS). Together, the JMP and GLAAS teams have launched a two-year project to identify indicators for monitoring ‘climate resilient water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)’ at the global level, to support progressive integration of information on climate resilience into national and global frameworks for monitoring WASH.

This Excel file is a list of candidate indicators that have been identified through a review of frameworks used in WASH and adjacent sectors to conceptualize climate resilience, and through a parallel review of literature on drinking water, sanitation, hygiene and climate resilience. Building on the 2.0 version, this consolidated and refined set (version 3.1) has been developed. These candidate indicators  will be reviewed and form the basis for development of a short list of indicators that could be used by the JMP and GLAAS teams for global monitoring.

The Excel file is accompanied by a PDF describing the candidate indicators and their organization.
