JMP methodology for global monitoring of WASH in health care facilities

This document describes the methods used by the JMP to produce estimates for water, sanitation, hygiene, environmental cleaning and health care waste management services in health care facilities. Global indicators are defined, and the structure of composite indicators is described with illustrative examples. 

As for JMP estimates of WASH in households and schools, a set of standard steps are followed:

• Identification of data sources
• Data extraction, cleaning and pre-processing
• Producing draft country estimates
• Country consultation and estimate finalization
• Producing regional and global aggregate estimates
